2004 Asian Tsunami

The devastation caused by the tsunami in Indonesia

On December 26th, 2004 a massive tsunami hit Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Somalia, Myanmar, Maldives, Tanzania, Seychelles, Bangladesh, South Africa, Yemen, Kenya and Madagascar; the tsunami killed 184,167-227,898 people, wounded 125,000 and displaced 1,740,000, making it the deadliest tsunami in human history.

Some began to question the idea that the tsunami was natural for a plethora of reasons, so this is just a showcase of the reasons why and the possible evidence that the tsunami wasn't natural but caused by a nuclear test, either intentionally or accidentally.

The first and most important detail regarding the tsunami is that according to the USGS the earthquake that created the tsunami was 1.1×1017 joules; 1,500 times that of the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima (Fat Man) and that the earthquake itself caused a seismic oscillation of the Earth's surface of up to 200–300mm (8–12in), equivalent of the tidal forces caused by both the sun and the moon.

Another detail to mention whenever discussing weather warfare is that near the end of WWII the US was working on a bomb that could cause artificial tsunamis and were testing them near New Zealand, an article describing this reads as follows:

"New Zealand and the United States conducted thousands of secret tests attempting to create a 'tsunami bomb' during World War Two, a New Zealand author has claimed.

About 3,700 bombs were exploded off Auckland's Whangaparaoa Peninsula and New Caledonia in the operation, dubbed 'Project Seal'.

The operation found a series of 10 large offshore explosions could generate a 10 metre tsunami, according to research by Kiwi author and film-maker Ray Waru.

'Presumably if the atomic bomb had not worked as well as it did, we might have been tsunami-ing people,' Mr Waru told the Telegraph.

Mr Waru told the Telegraph the project was launched in 1944 after US naval officer E A Gibson noted that blasts used to clear coral reefs around Pacific Islands often created a large wave.

He found the plans in military files in the national archives and has published his discoveries in the book, Secrets and Treasures.

The files reportedly said initial testing was positive, however the project was ditched in early 1945. It was concluded that a single explosion would not be powerful enough to generate a tsunami, but a line of about 2 million kilograms of explosives about 8km from shore could create a giant wave capable of inundating a small city.

Mr Waru's book also has Defence records of UFO sightings, including drawings of unidentified aircraft, descriptions of aliens wearing 'pharaoh masks' and alleged extraterrestrial writing, the Telegraph reported."

This was also reported on in 2009 by the New Zealand Herald with the implication that the technology tested 50 years ago was viable if further developed, as claimed by researchers from the university of University of Waikato, in particular Dr. Willem de Lange of the Department of Earth Sciences, that article reads as follows:

"Tsunami experts believe a bomb secretly tested off the coast of Auckland 50 years ago could be developed to devastating effect.

University of Waikato researchers believe a modern approach to the wartime idea tested off Whangaparaoa could produce waves up to 30m high.

Dr Willem de Lange, of the Department of Earth Sciences, said studies proved that while a single explosion was not necessarily effective, a series of explosions could have a significant impact.

'It's a bit like sliding backwards and forwards in a bath - the waves grow higher,' Dr de Lange said yesterday.

He was responding to a Weekend Herald report of experiments at Whangaparaoa in 1944-45 to create a tidal wave bomb. The top-secret work by the late Professor Tom Leech was detailed in 53-year-old papers released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Dr de Lange said a coastal marine group from the university recently studied the likely impacts of underwater volcanic explosions.

Their work concluded that the next eruption in the Auckland region was likely to be under water, given the large amount of water around the city.

But tests showed a single explosion in the Hauraki Gulf would not trigger much of a tsunami.

'For most places the wave was less than 1m high, but it could be a bit more in the Tamaki Estuary.'

Dr de Lange said the waves were not high because the energy was projected upwards, not sideways. He believed the same principle would be true for a tsunami bomb.

'You can't confine the energy. Once the explosion gets big enough, all of its energy goes into the atmosphere and not into the water. But one of the things we discovered was if you had a series of explosions in the same place, it's much more effective and can produce much bigger waves.'"

But with that out of the way let's get back to the main topic; the claim that the tsunami was caused by a nuclear test, one of the first outlets to claim this was an Egyptian newspaper called Al-Osboa which said that the tsunami was caused by an Indian nuclear experiment that was overseen by American and Israeli nuclear scientists; adding that the bomb was detonated inside of a trench within the 'fire belt' or the ring of fire in the Pacific Ocean, due to the region being directly in the middle of the tetonic plates that make up the earth.

If this theory is true then the nuclear bomb (or series of them) was detonated along the stretch of the Java trench due to it's close proximity to Indonesia where most of the damage was, another one of the earliest reports on the possibility that the tsunami was caused by a series of nuclear explosions was made by Joe Vialls (the same person who wrote Deadly Deception at Port Arthur), these reports included: 'Did New York Orchestrate The Asian Tsunami?' and 'Why the March 8.7 Quake Did Not Cause a Tsunami' - the theory pushed by Vialls was that the tsunami was caused not by India but by America.

To finish off this report I'll leave an interview with an American scientist named Rosalie Bertell on a plethora of subjects but in particular the 2004 Asian tsunami, a transcript of the relevant section reads as follows:

"There was an incredibly big tsunami in the Indian Ocean that was devastating for not only Sumatra, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, and even the east coast of Africa. It was caused by an earthquake, a shift under the Indian ocean. Now we know the technology is out there and many nations can induce earthquakes. In fact, there's been an effort for probably 30 to 40 years to control all natural processes since they would give you a tremendous advantage in war. The US tried to do some weather modification, for example, during the war in Viet Nam. They called it Project Sky Fury and they were trying to control lightning and monsoon rains. So the earthquake technology is out there. It's usable. Probably the US, Russia, Japan, China, maybe India – so there's quite a few countries that would have this ability.

The earthquake was not the usual, and there's even a dispute over where the center was located. Australia claims it was about 350 miles south of where the United States says it was, so there's not even agreement on the location of the epicenter. There was no preliminary warning that there would be an earthquake. Usually there are earth tremors that are picked up by the local earthquake centers. They can pick up these tremors and they know it's building up to an earthquake. But there wasn't any preliminary; there were no identified aftershocks. There were tremors after, but there was none large enough to be identified as an aftershock. The people, in fact, when they felt some of these tremors, they prepared for a second wave – which never came."

But the entire video regarding the subject will be linked below, just for reference purposes:

So the question remains; was the Asian tsunami caused by a nuclear test or was it a natural disaster? That's up for you to decide, personally I'm unsure but I feel like this needs a listing here simply due to it becoming more and more obscure as time goes on.
